This 250+ page printable pack has been created as a flexible bank of activities that can be used right throughout the school year.
I originally created these activities for the times in my own classroom when I need children to be able to get on with something independently, particularly while I’m listening to reading. The aim is simple: easy to understand activities that consolidate familiar learning without needing constant teacher support.
Use the pack for morning work, independent work, reading time, early finishers, quiet activities, stations or anytime you need a ready-to-go activity.
The pack contains a huge variety of Senior Infant-friendly activities, including:
Seasonal colouring pages for different times of the school year
Tricky word activities, including rainbow writing and Roll, Read, Trace & Write
Sight word activities with a wide range of words to choose from
Numeracy activities including counting, number work, addition, subtraction, ten frames, number words, patterns, missing numbers and shape
Handwriting practice, covering uppercase and lowercase letter formation
Fun Friday activities including mazes, drawing, counting, matching, dot-to-dots and seasonal challenges
Sentence and picture writing activities
Look, Write & Colour pages with picture prompts and useful vocabulary to support independent sentence writing
The maths section includes activities such as missing-number sequences, pattern work and shape matching alongside number, addition and ten-frame work.
Senior Infants make huge progress between September and June, so the pack includes a range of difficulty levels.
Children can begin with familiar activities such as colouring, handwriting, number work and word practice before progressing towards more independent literacy tasks.
The writing activities, for example, begin with very simple model sentences such as “I can see a dog” and “I like cake”, before moving towards children writing their own sentences.
Later picture-writing pages provide a visual prompt alongside useful vocabulary, allowing children to create sentences with support while still working independently.
In my own classroom, I like having a simple routine such as:
Monday: Seasonal / creative activity
Tuesday: Tricky words or sight words
Wednesday: Maths
Thursday: Writing or handwriting
Friday: Fun Friday 🎉
But there is no set order to the pack.
Pick and choose the pages that suit your class, the learning you are currently covering and the time of year.
This is not a workbook that children are expected to complete from beginning to end.
It is a bank of activities you can dip into whenever you need them.
Some children may be working on different tricky words. Others may need easier number activities. Some may be ready for independent sentence writing while others still benefit from tracing and copying.
That flexibility is intentional.
