I originally created this resource for my own classroom to use in the mornings while I listen to reading. I wanted activities that children could actually get on with independently — without needing constant teacher support or complicated instructions.
The pack has now been completely reviewed, refreshed and reorganised into separate, easy-to-navigate folders, so you can quickly find an activity to suit what your class is working on.
Use it for morning work, independent work, reading time, early finishers, quiet activities, stations or whenever you need something meaningful that children can work on by themselves.

In my own classroom, I often use a simple weekly routine:
Monday: seasonal colouring
Tuesday: tricky words / word work
Wednesday: numeracy
Thursday: literacy / handwriting
Friday: Fun Friday
But you absolutely do not have to follow this routine.
The pack has been designed as a flexible bank of activities. Pick and choose what suits your children, your current learning and the time of year.
There is no expectation that children complete every page or work through the resource in order.
Junior Infants change enormously between September and June, so the activities range from very simple visual tasks suitable for the beginning of the year to more challenging literacy and numeracy activities for later on.
Once an activity type and concept have been introduced in class, the repeated layouts help children become familiar with what to do — making the pages ideal for times when you need them to work independently.
The extensive tricky-word and sight-word banks are there to provide choice, so teachers can select only the words their children have already learned.
